Design and Plan

today i did my second design on paint the first deign was on word. i am stuck beetween two colors grren and grey and pink and grey.

i desied in usind both and more colurs with grey, i have 8 differnt colors with the gery, and the same 8 colors with a goldish sande color.

i have desided in how my navigation will look like.

Investigation report

After i finished my Animoto i started on my investigation report. one page has all my blog posts and the other page has my cheaklist, of my ditgital portfolio.
I did not have inof time in class. so i fiesed it at home. i choose to do the cheak list. thats half of the investigation. the other half is th blog postes i just need to copy and past them, including this one.

My Animoto Video

Today I saved my Inspiation in JPG image, and know i will be exploring animoto.com. It is a website to do 30 sec. vidios. After I explord it made my own vidio on animoto. i started with collecting pictures, i asked a friend who alresdy finished how many pictures he used, it was a bout ten i got elevon. then i chose my music, then it was the credits wher i mention the title, and description the rest was already filled like my name. then i played it, but i'm was not sure on how to upload it in to my blogger, so i asked my friend to help me with that. but it did not work so i will try again next class.

then i tried to download the video again from animoto, but i had the same problem. So i started to make a checklist. I sent it to my e-mail, but that did not work so i copied the code and pasted it on this blog post. AND IT WORKED!!!!!! After i tried doing it about 5 times and the internet explorer kept on closing on me whenever i posted the code, till i went to a different computer.

Inspiration (brain-storm)

Today i will do my insperation branstorm as i talked about in my last blog. The subjects i will write about are, English, Math, Science, Islamic, Humanities, Arabic, Spanish, Art, DT, and C&S. Under Art i would have Visual Arts, Music, and Drama.

Inspiration

We have finished our investigation and now we are on to our design. We are using a program called Inspiration to make a rough design about our digital portfolio. I am going to have all the subjects and their links on the homepage. Then I would have 2 links coming out of each subject: artifact and reflection. For some subjects I will have only one artifact and reflection, and for others I will have more.

Our Wiki

Today we made our own Wiki at the begining i had a little trouble. then me and neha since we both had touble figerout a username; so i had the idea of making our username Pinkii and Brainz, I was pinkii and she was brainz. this acctually a show called Pinki and the Brain, there two mice and brain is an eviel genus who tries to take over the wourld and Pinki destoys his chances by acsedent. they are two lab mice who have been mutated to be smart or dumb.

Explore HTML

Today I looked at and explored HTML, which is the coding for a webpage. i changed the color of the backround, by usind the code, bgcolor="yellow", but it is inside these <> insted of yellow you can put any color. i then made my heading bold by using the code H1 inside of the triagle bracits. you can make your headins smaller by changin the nummber the bigger the number the ssmaller the text. you can only use nummbers from 1-6. these are some examples you can do much more.
HTML stands for: Hyper Text Markup Language.

What is a Digital Portfolio?

What are the three important features of a digital portfolio?
- It shows how you improved or did not improve through out the year.
- It allows parents and teachers to show the students work with out showing their test marks.
- It shows the students work in a clear and easy to get to format.

An advantage of the dital porfoio is that you can open it any where around the world, using the URL. it is easier to take any where than a hard copy for exmple CD's, Floppy's, or Thumdrives because it is saved on the internet, so you can open your work any where around the world.

An disadvantage is if you want to view digital portfolio it sometimes requires special software and additonal skill and knowledge for the maker and viewer.

Ditatal Portfolios examples

In Qareena's Portfolio she has to dead links they are about me and my Blogsspot. the rest of the links are ok. the links that work are home, personal statment, ditatal portfolio, coumunity and service. in her personal statment she taks about herself, then about her opinun. In her Dital portfolioshe has some of i'm gessing her best works form about each subject. in the coumunity and service link she talks about how many hours she worked in each project and how many hours in total. In her home page she has only two headings on that welcoms you to her portfolio and the other is a heading that shos she is in 9-A, and under it is a Quate about learning. In my Opinion her desin is not very creative, and it has alot of white and Black there are not many colours or picturs. her portfolio is very orginised you know what is what from the headings the links are clearly worded so you know what you want to go. this is a hyperling to her portfolio: http://www.isdweblogs.org/qareena/

In Vincent's portfolio he has a heading in every page you open, there so many i can't recall them all. he has links to every single subject. even though he might not have started that subject he has written that on the page, all his links are working perfectly. he also has linls to his personal interests and some sites he recomends to visit. his design is cool, its not fully colorfull but the color green that he used he used it alot so it gives color. his blog is very orginized, his links are all orginized in to groups on the side. he labeled everything clearly. this is a link to his portfolio: http://vincentsportfolio.wikispaces.com/

In Vanille's portfolio she has sevon links and they are, home, about, pesonal satment, dital-portfolio, journals, disction, and membership. she has headings in every page the links take you to. Advanced Maths, advanced french, host country studies, science, V.arts, P.arts, Technology (IT and DT), english, humanities are the classes I attend to. these are the classess she mentioned she takes. her design is very creative espetionly the way she says welcome's you to her portfolio; and the way she shows the subjects she attends. her portfolio is very orginized the same way Vincent and Qareena's are. htis is a link to Vanilla's portfollio: http://www.isdweblogs.org/vanille/

Week one computers

In my first lesson with Mrs. Lindsey, she talked about a website called del.icio.us (it spells delicious with out the dots); this is a bookmarking website where you can bookmark fun, interesting, useful, and importent websites. Most people would say that they favour 'Favorites' on there computer, but they can only accsess that on the computer they saved it on, but with del.icio.us you can access it any where around the world because it is an account on the internet. In my opinion what eveon makes more ussfull than just saving cool or game websites so you go not remeber there URLs, if for example you have a project and you fount a perfect website you can bookmark it and then you can show it to your partner. to do all this you need to create an account, then login which is basicly like creating and loging in to any internet account; i.e. hotmail and youtube...

Week two computers

THE RED HAT:
I think that blogger.com is not a vaery good blog site, because it iss very confusing and fusterating to use in my opinion. for example i did not know what was my username because it did not ask for one it automaticcly makes your E-Mail the username it took me awhile to figer that out. And when i tried to open my Blogger account at home it did not work, so then i had to do a hole new account over agian; and hopefully that worked so far at home and school. these are my feelings about the blogger website.

THE GREEN HAT:
I think that del.icio.us is a very usfull website. Because i can use ot for all my subjects, and to bookmark my own websites and i can have each subject seperated for the websites i use for each indivdual subject. i could also have lots of game sites that i can not remeber there URLs. I might have a website i would like to show a friend, teacher, or any random person, i could do that very easily with out the need to remeber the URL.
