Digital Literacy: Investigation

Introduction:
Digital literacy is the abilaty to use and undersatnd the computer (Internet). Just like the word literate means to be able to read. Digital Literacy means to know how to read the couputer ‘in a figure of speach’

The Problem:
the problem with digital liteacy is that it deprives people getting to be more social.

1. Overview/Description of the various aspects of the topic.
Digital Literacy is the talent and ability to locate, organize, understand, evaluate, and create information...using the digital technology that we have today. It involves working with knowledge of the current and modern technology and understanding how to use it. Digitally literate people are people that understand how to work with technology and are usually more efficient in the work place. The goal of Digital Literacy is to teach and assess basic computer concepts and skills so that people can use computer technology in everyday life to develop new social and economic opportunities for themselves, their families and other people.

2. Background of the topic including specific real examples.
The Digital Literacy Curriculum helps you develop the essential skills you need to begin computing with confidence.Digital Literacy is to have the Ability to: locate understand investigate to create information using digital technology. technology is changing the way we think, as in schools around the world are updating there curriculum, and course materials being available to students online, so they are in the 21st century instead of the 20th.

3. Social / ethical aspects of the topic including how real people and communities have been positively or negatively affected and legal consequences
Ways to be digitally literate include keeping up with new technology, knowing terms when using technology and also being able to fix simple things like a computer crash or deleting of important files. If you don't know how to do these things to have the knowledge of going online and figuring out how to fix the problem. This is a positive outcome because people have now been able to correct mistakes and fix problems much more effectively and efficiently. This is better for the people that have time-consuming jobs and are on deadlines, being able to fix mistakes so easily with new technology has helped minimize stress in the office also helping people to work longer, happier.

4. Possible solutions to the problems that have emerged.
Not affordable, it is very expensive to own a laptop or computer especially in poor countries, so a soloution though it is not very reliable would be some generous donations. Not all people access the internet, this is the same you need money and if some people can not afford it, the overment can find a way, maby get some donnations, becase this for educating the childred and adults. these causes make less people understand how to use Digital Literacy, which is not-Many people might understand how to use it-The access could cause problems such as hacking and info that is private, stealing files, and destroying work.

5. Guideline(s) or rule(s)

Design Brief:To solve this problem, we are going to create a Microsoft PowerPoint. I decided to make a PowerPoint because my group and I were trying to show Digital Literacy in all grades, one at a time. My group and I decided that a PowerPoint would be the best way to show different grades one at a time. After we decided what we were going to do, I decided to do a bit of reading and reviewing documents on the web. We have done a lot of research so far, but I plan to do more, more specifically; for grades 10, 11 and12.I am also going to use the photo from our Google docs as the opening picture on the first page because it says “I want YOU for digital literacy!”, and I feel it sums up what we are trying to communicate to the public in this PowerPoint.
